Once we receive your background check results, the Membership Committee will review your application and, if approved, present it to the Board for final approval. Upon board approval, we’ll be excited to officially welcome you as a new member of the Kiwanis Club of Abilene!
Our Abilene Kiwanians brought home some serious hardware a few weeks ago! 🏆✨
Both Abilene clubs and Division 35 cleaned up at the recent Texas Oklahoma District of Kiwanis International Convention, and we were thrilled to celebrate these honors together at our meeting.
We were also honored to welcome fellow Kiwanians and leaders from the Kiwanis Club of Greater Abilene, including @Joey Parker, Floyd Miller, Region 6 Trustee David McCaghren, Lt. Gov. Lyndel Cook, and Phil Hill (not pictured).
Pictured celebrating the multiple club and division honors are Region 6 Trustee David McCaghren, Randy Roewe, Faye Dodson, Guy Lucas, and Lt. Gov. Lyndel Cook.
Every banner patch, certificate, and award on that table is a direct reflection of our members' tireless dedication to serving the children and families of the Abilene community. We are proud of what we’ve accomplished together—and ready for another great year of service! 💙🥞
At last week's meeting, we hosted our annual High School Football Coaches Program, welcoming our local head coaches (L-R: Justin Gorman, Clay Martin, Mike Fullen, and Scott Stewart) to preview the upcoming season.
We loved hearing about the opportunities and goals ahead for: ~Justin Gorman – Abilene Christian HS (6-Man, 1st Year as Head Coach) ~Clay Martin – Wylie HS (5A Div. II, 7th Year) ~Mike Fullen – Abilene High (5A Div. I, 8th Year) ~Scott Stewart – Cooper HS (5A Div. II, 1st Year as Head Coach)
Kiwanis History Note 📜 Our tradition of hosting local coaches dates back to September 1951! In 1956, the club hosted the Kiwanis Pigskin Review to kick off the season and raise funds for local children—led by Kiwanian and 1957 Club President Chuck Moser during his historic 3-peat state championship run with Abilene High.
Best of luck to all the coaches, players, cheer squads, bands, and fans this season under the Friday Night Lights! 📣
