Kiwanis Club of Abilene: A Consistent Partner in Fighting Childhood Hunger
The Kiwanis Club of Abilene has been a dedicated partner in combating childhood hunger since the summer of 2019, consistently volunteering with the Abilene Hunger Coalition’s Summer Meal Program. In fact, for three of those summers, Kiwanians served meals at not just one but two different locations, demonstrating their commitment to ensuring children have access to nutritious meals. Throughout our ongoing partnership, Kiwanians have served thousands of meals, with dozens of members volunteering for over 400 shifts and contributing over 800 hours of service to the cause.
This past year, the club’s dedication extended beyond the summer months, as Kiwanians also volunteered to serve meals during both Christmas break and Spring Break. Through their ongoing partnership with the Abilene Hunger Coalition, the Kiwanis Club of Abilene continues to make a significant impact on the lives of children in our community, ensuring they have access to the nourishment they need to thrive throughout the year.
