Foundation Scholarships

  • Criteria: Academic achievement, school/community involvement, financial need
  • Deadline for application is April 15
  • $1,000 Scholarship
  • Application form and requirements to apply
  • Applications will be available through the school counselor, online form, or available to print online

Career & Technology Scholarship

  • Career and Technology Scholarships are nominated by the teachers of the local high schools
  • Students must be attending schools in Abilene
  • Scroll to the bottom of the scholarship application to Download or Fill Out the application

Agriculture Scholarships

  • Must be a resident of Taylor County
  • Must have an overall high school grade average of B or higher
  • Must have been an active member of the FFA, FHA, and/or 4-H for at least two years
  • Meet the entrance requirements of a Texas College or University
  • Enroll in college in the Fall of the following school year
  • Must plan to major in an agriculture or home economics-related field
  • Must include test scores of ACT or SAT
  • Applications are available online or to print and mail
  • Must complete and return an application by the announced date

Gordon Dowell Memorial Scholarship

  • Be a full-time, enrolled student at Abilene Christian University in good academic standing
  • Be officially declared as a major in one of the following fields: Agribusiness, Animal Science, or Environmental Science
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Submit a completed application, which includes:
    • Upload your current official academic transcript
    • Upload your major’s degree plan
    • A letter of recommendation from a professor, employer, or mentor
    • List major agriculture leadership activities & honors
    • List other leadership activities & honors
    • Write a 500 to 750-word essay on the topic provided
  • Fill out and submit the scholarship application online by November 15, 2025
