The Kiwanis Club is proud to present the 20th Annual Melvin Martin First Responder Award—named in honor of fellow Kiwanian and retired Police Chief Melvin Martin —to Corporal Stevie Burchell of the Bastrop County Sheriff's Office .
An Abilene native and Cooper High School graduate, Corporal Burchell exemplifies courage, dedication, and selfless service. Come celebrate with us as we continue our tradition of recognizing local first responders for their daily sacrifices.
When: Tomorrow, 9/9/26, at noon upstairs at the Abilene Country Club
Note: Due to a large expected turnout, the buffet will be served upstairs.
